Our services

We're here to bring your garden to life.

We offer three areas of service: garden maintenance and management, design and installation, and consultation and education.

01

Maintain & Manage

Regularly scheduled garden maintenance is the best way to get the most out of your garden.

Bed Maintenance

With evolved and current gardening practices, you'll see your plants grow into healthy beings. Your garden will have fewer weeds and more greenery, changing through the seasons. We do all aspects of garden bed maintenance including pruning, weeding, amending, transplanting and dividing, mulching beds with the specific type of mulch your soil needs, and conducting soil testing and analysis.

Want fruit trees planted and ready for the coming season? We can do that. Plant organic veggies for you to harvest yourself? We can do that too.

Creating Intentional Spaces

As a boutique garden horticulture business, we tailor our techniques to your garden. You can trust us to be detailed, accurate and up to date on seasonal practices. Whether your curbside area, shrubs, lawn or hardscape needs some love and attention, we can provide that — and give it more intention and purpose.

We're Seasonally Appropriate

Whether it's a big mulch project, a seasonal bulb display or a colourful addition, we'll transform your yard and garden into a place of serenity for you and wildlife. With customized contracts and seasonal packages, we provide all the support, knowledge and expertise you need to keep your plants healthy for a long time.

Our approach

Order & chaos, in balance

By fostering dwindling insect and bird populations, finding a balance between order and chaos, and using regenerative and restorative techniques, we're saving the planet one garden at a time.

02

Design & Installation

Your home is always evolving. That's why we take a customized and unique approach to every client's garden.

Design

Investing in your design plan is always worth it and will save you time and money down the line. Realizing your vision for your property takes a customized approach, so we offer a wide variety of design levels and packages to fit your needs and the complexity of the project. With a thorough design survey, we make sure your needs and requirements are met — whether you want edible plants, native plants, something ornamental, or ideally a mix of all three.

Consultation

Almost Wild's founder consults with clients and provides a detailed garden management plan. After a decade of teaching and working in landscaping, they share their knowledge about taking care of the land, managing labour, ecological maintenance, landscape management, and finding opportunities to create more inviting garden spaces for animals and people.

They love sharing stories about animals and insects, and how they interact with gardens and landscapes. Coming from a background in horticulture, it's easy to geek out on all the beautiful aspects of biodiversity and the natural beauty of gardens. Almost Wild will consult with you one-on-one to give you guidance and support on where you need to go and what you need to do.

Education

As an instructor at Pacific Horticulture College, our founder is passionate about education and teaching the techniques that lead to more ecologically diverse gardens on the planet. They work with clients to teach them gardening and give them the tools to maintain and grow their own gardens down the line.

Through public courses and workshops, institutions, schools, organizations and companies can benefit from the lessons learned. Lessons include basic and advanced pruning, soil management and regeneration, ecological bed maintenance, plant health, and anything else a client wants to learn — from the most basic concepts to sophisticated ecological horticulture topics.
